The FAA has approved use of the iPad for flight maps instead of the old paper ones they used to have. This rule is currently only for a small sector of the pilot grid, but don’t expect commercial pilots to sit on their asses and let this fly by(none of that was supposed to be a pun, I swear). Although it may be a well needed update in technology for flight navigation, it still creeps me out a bit that im going to soon have to get on a giant metal bullet and have the man directing it lose to his ADD thanks to all the friggin apps he wants to play with. And before you go telling me that they are specialty trained and could handle it, remember all the pilots that fell asleep or flew shit-faced drunk. I’m just not feeling like they need another distraction.
