Xbox 360 gets an extra 1GB per disc

Microsoft has announced the release of a dashboard upgrade that will unlock the currently unusable portion of disc space on current DVDs (the game ones use about 1.15GB for anti-piracy and video partitions). This is a huge deal as nobody likes to change discs, and upcoming game engines are going to take up some serious space. It cant contend with Blu-rays’s massive 50GB of storage, but its a start while Xbox scrambles around to find a way to cram more Gigs onto their discs.
