Howdy gang…I’m really wanting to quit my job cuz it’s taken me so far from where I want to be (in a pool of duck sauce mostly, but secondly here). Also we have lost most of our production, KGC it seems is taking resignation and BadBabbler has some serious familial issue he is dealing with, while I of course am in extreme business mode and working like an ant (they don’t sleep) for my day job, turning it into an all-the-time job. Otherwise it seems we will be staying at a slow pace for a while. Now then, remember back when I posted about the ridiculous SOPA bill? Well it turns out there are some big names up against the bill (instead of just the big names supporting it). Google, Facebook, Twitter, and the Electronic Frontier Foundation are all firmly against the current drawing of the proposition as they believe it acts against the first amendment rights and stifles the internet of it’s “free” inter-relationship with producers and consumers. One of the other companies against the bill is Epic Games, the developers of the hit series Gears of War and infinity blade, and they haven’t been secretive about their aversion either, releasing this statement on their official forum:
“Epic Games supports efforts that would stop overseas websites profiting from pirating our games, but we have to do that in a way that’s compatible with freedom of speech and due process of law. Thus, we do not support the current version of SOPA.”
The opposition of Epic is a bit of a surprise mainly because they are a member of the Entertainment Software Association whom had recently proclaimed their complete support of the SOPA bill. This fight is turning out to be yet another back and worth with no real promising outcome (sort of like playing strip-Monopoly when you have terrible fiscal responsibility). So what do you think about the bill? Im against it myself, but what do I know maybe its a good thing. after all you know what they say: foresight is 20/20…..What? that’s not how the saying goes?….Hindsight!?!?! there’s no need for bathroom humor here friend, we are all civilized people with sterling silver funny bones.
